Demo Mode & Zero-Migration Upgradeability
Demo Mode
Section titled “Demo Mode”Every surface introduced in v5 — the nine Observe Platform surfaces, the Fleet honeycomb, the Optimize comparison, and the full Insider Risk workspace — can be populated with realistic demo data when Demo Mode is enabled. Demo Mode is a per-user toggle, so an evaluator or a sales engineer can switch their own session into a fully-populated console without affecting other users or injecting synthetic data into another operator’s live view.
This solves the classic “empty dashboard” problem on day one: before any live agent traffic exists, a reviewer can open the console and immediately see representative KPIs, model-usage breakdowns, a populated fleet grid, direct-vs-optimized savings, and firing Agent Risk Indicators with sample cases and enforcement standings.
| Property | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Scope | Per user (toggled on that user’s own session) |
| Coverage | All Observe Platform surfaces + Fleet + Optimize + Insider Risk |
| Data | Realistic, representative sample values |
| Effect on live data | None — it is a presentation toggle, not a data-writing operation |
Zero-Migration Upgradeability
Section titled “Zero-Migration Upgradeability”None of the v5 capabilities — Observe Platform, AgentFleet, AgentKeel, Insider Risk, or Demo Mode — requires a database schema migration. All new configuration and state persist in the existing settings store. Consequently, upgrading an existing deployment to v5 is a plain image swap, with no migration step, no ALTER TABLE window, and no backfill to babysit:
cd ~/AgentWatchdocker compose downdocker compose pulldocker compose up -d# wait for /health to report healthy and confirm the version bumpBecause there is no migration, the upgrade is also trivially reversible — rolling back is the same image-swap in reverse. Settings written by v5 features are simply ignored by an older image, and the newer image reads them back if you roll forward again.
This continues the operational philosophy of §7.16: one source of truth for configuration, and upgrades that a single operator can perform in minutes during a normal maintenance window.
8. AgentWatch Connect Agent
Section titled “8. AgentWatch Connect Agent”The AgentWatch Connect Agent is a lightweight local proxy that intercepts AI traffic at the network level, enabling governance for web-based AI chat interfaces (ChatGPT, Claude.ai, etc.) and API traffic without requiring application code changes.
