User Dashboard — My Settings

Navigate to: My Settings (visible to all logged-in users)

What it does: Allows each user to update their own profile information (display name and email address) and change their password. Administrators cannot access another user’s My Settings page — password changes must be initiated by the user themselves.

Key panels:

Panel Description
My Profile Edit full name and email address; click Save Profile to apply
Change Password Enter current password, new password, and confirmation; live requirements checker validates as you type

Password requirements:

All passwords must meet these criteria before the Change Password button activates:

Requirement Rule
Length At least 8 characters
Uppercase At least one uppercase letter (A–Z)
Lowercase At least one lowercase letter (a–z)
Number At least one digit (0–9)
Special character At least one symbol (e.g. !@#$%^&*)
Match New password and confirmation must be identical

Note: After a successful password change, you are automatically signed out and redirected to the login page. Log in again with your new password.

Temporary password banner: If your account was created by an administrator with a pre-set temporary password, a yellow warning banner appears at the top of My Settings prompting you to change it before continuing. This banner dismisses once the password is successfully changed.

Step-by-step — updating your profile:

  1. Navigate to My Settings.
  2. In the My Profile panel, update your Full Name and/or Email Address.
  3. Click Save Profile. A green confirmation message confirms the update.

Step-by-step — changing your password:

  1. Navigate to My Settings → Change Password.
  2. Enter your Current Password.
  3. Type your New Password — the requirements checklist turns green for each rule you satisfy.
  4. Repeat the new password in Confirm New Password — the “Passwords match” row turns green.
  5. Click Change Password. You are signed out immediately.
  6. Log in with the new password to verify it works.

How to test: Log in as a regular user. Navigate to My Settings → Change Password. Enter a password that fails one requirement (e.g. no special character) — verify the Change Password button stays disabled and the failing requirement remains red. Enter a valid password — all six rows should go green and the button should become active. Complete the change and confirm you are redirected to the login page.

API endpoints:
