User Dashboard — My Budget
Navigate to: My Budget (visible to all logged-in users)
What it does: Shows the user’s individual budget allocation and current spend. Budget limits are set by an administrator (in Management → Budget Management, section 12.6). This page is read-only for end users — it reflects limits assigned to them, not configurable by them.
Key panels:
| Panel | Description |
|---|---|
| Daily Budget card | Spent vs. limit with colour-coded progress bar; resets at midnight UTC |
| Monthly Budget card | Spent vs. limit with progress bar; resets on the 1st of each calendar month |
| Budget Information | Table showing daily limit, monthly limit, budget source (Individual vs. Group), today’s spending, this month’s spending, and average daily spend |
| Budget Alerts notice | Informs the user that automatic notifications fire at 80% and 100% of daily and monthly limits |
Reading the progress bar colours:
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | Under 70% used |
| Amber | 70–90% used — approaching limit |
| Red | 90%+ used — near or at limit |
Step-by-step:
- Navigate to My Budget.
- Check the Daily Budget card to confirm you have spending headroom for the day.
- If the bar is amber or red, reduce usage or contact your administrator to request a higher limit.
- Review Budget Information → Budget Source: “Individual” means a limit was set directly on your account; “Group” means you share a pool with your team.
When the limit is reached: Your API keys will return a 429 Budget Exceeded response until the budget resets or an administrator raises the limit.
How to test: Ask your administrator to set a low daily limit on your account (e.g. $0.10). Make API calls until the limit is hit. Verify the progress bar turns red and subsequent calls return 429. Then have the administrator reset or raise the limit and confirm access is restored.
